Partials and Dentures
Dentures can help take the place of missing natural teeth. Dentures allow patients to chew and speak more easily while improving their appearance and often boosting self-confidence. Full dentures are used when all of a patient's teeth need to be replaced. Partial dentures, or bridges, are used when only a few teeth are missing. In either case, dentures can help you look and feel your best.
Highbridge
- Valid in certain cases – the best, most aesthetic and durable is porcelain. Over a zirconia substructure. (Compared to the highbridge's metal substructure. "Porcelain or plastic." Zirconia is stronger – practically impossible to break. And bonds with the porcelain.
- What it is: one unit that replaces all your teeth. It's screwed in. Like a denture, but screwed in. Made out of the same materials – plastic and acrylic with plastic and acrylic teeth. Better than dentures because it's more stable, easier to eat.
- BUT – from a strength and aesthetic standpoint, porcelain will look more natural, last longer, be stronger.
- Can be a lower initial investment – but can also be a "quick fix" compared to other alternatives. that may not be as long lasting. May need to be replaced.
- We offer both – and recommend the best option for you. Ask us.
- "Highbridge" is a branded name for a "screw-retained denture."
